Sambalpur IIM Becomes First in Country to Launch Two 4-Year Undergraduate Programs

Sambalpur Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is set to become the first IIM in the country to introduce two four-year undergraduate (UG) programs. This move is expected to create significant opportunities for students across India. The programs are scheduled to begin soon.

The two new UG courses are:

  1. B.Sc. Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
  2. B.Sc. Program in Management and Public Policy

Both programs will span a duration of four years. Students can enroll in these courses after completing Class 12. A total of 90 seats will be available at IIM Sambalpur for these programs.

Admission to the B.Sc. in Data Science and AI will be through an entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), while the B.Sc. in Management and Public Policy will require candidates to qualify through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), also conducted by NTA.

IIM Sambalpur Director Mahadeo Prasad Jaiswal said that these UG programs aim to provide cutting-edge education to students and build strong academic foundations for the future. He also mentioned that the first MBA batch in Business Analytics at the institute’s Delhi campus has already commenced this year, with 370 students enrolled — all with 2 to 3 years of work experience.

Additionally, IIM Sambalpur has also inaugurated its 11th MBA batch on campus
