Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has unveiled transformative reforms under the ‘Ama Shasan’ (Our Governance) initiative to enhance public service delivery. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja chaired a high-level secretaries’ meeting on Tuesday at Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, to discuss these measures, focusing on citizen-centric governance and technological integration.
Since June 2024, approximately 82% of public grievances have been resolved, showcasing significant progress in redressal mechanisms. To further streamline this, the government plans to leverage technology for faster grievance resolution. A key feature is the ‘Ama Sathi’ WhatsApp bot, set to launch under the Odisha Right to Public Services Act, providing seamless access to approved services and real-time project monitoring. By October 31, 2025, a work-pass book system will track development scheme progress.
The meeting also proposed the ‘Odisha Ideas Portal,’ a digital platform to foster innovative administrative reforms through collaboration. Additionally, a centralized CCTV surveillance network will integrate cameras from various departments, enhancing state-wide monitoring.
Skill development was another focus, with all government officers mandated to complete 20 hours of annual training on the Integrated Government Online Training (IGoT) platform. From April 2025, training will cover AI-driven governance, healthcare delivery, and Odisha’s Vision Document for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
The state reviewed ‘Go Smile,’ a digital tool to simplify industrial operations and inspections, aligning with Odisha’s Vision 2036–47. The 2025–26 budget was also discussed, with Chief Secretary Ahuja emphasizing regular monitoring of departmental expenditure to ensure efficiency.
Key attendees included Additional Chief Secretaries Satyabrata Sahu (Home), Deoranjan Kumar Singh, and Surendra Kumar, alongside other departmental secretaries. These initiatives mark a strategic shift towards transparent, responsive, and tech-driven governance, aiming to position Odisha as a leader in public service excellence.
