Matrimonial Fraud Racket Busted: Woman Arrested for Marrying 25 Men in 7 Months

In a shocking matrimonial scam, a 23-year-old woman named Anuradha Paswan was arrested by Rajasthan Police for allegedly marrying 25 men across multiple states in just seven months, looting crores in cash and valuables. Operating as part of a fraud gang, Anuradha targeted unsuspecting grooms, marrying them and fleeing with their possessions shortly after. The racket, involving agents and accomplices, was exposed after a complaint by Vishnu Sharma from Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, on May 3.

Sharma had paid ₹2 lakh to agents Sunita and Pappu Meena, who promised to arrange a suitable bride. Anuradha married Sharma in a court on April 20, but two days later, she absconded with valuables, jewelry, and cash. Investigations revealed Anuradha, previously employed at a hospital in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, had left her husband due to family disputes and relocated to Bhopal, where she joined the fraud gang. The gang used WhatsApp to share photos of prospective brides, demanding ₹2-5 lakh from victims. Post-marriage, Anuradha would flee with the groom’s valuables.

The scam came to light after Sharma’s complaint prompted a police sting operation. A team, posing a constable as a prospective groom, contacted the agents, leading to Anuradha’s arrest in Bhopal. Other gang members, including Roshni, Raghuveer, Golu, Majbut Singh Yadav, and Arjun, all from Bhopal and nearby areas, are under interrogation. Anuradha had married another victim, Gabar, in Bhopal, defrauding him of ₹2 lakh. The gang’s systematic operation has raised alarms, with police urging caution for those seeking brides through agents. The case has sparked widespread concern, highlighting vulnerabilities in matrimonial arrangements.
