In a shocking case from Malkangiri district of Odisha, C.H. Naresh, a web channel journalist from Muraliguda village, was brutally killed by unknown miscreants at the Motu police station area.
The incident happened late last night along Muraliguda village, reports said. Naresh was said to have been having a conversation with two other journalists and two other local youth when five armed men on two motorcycles suddenly landed up and began attacking them with sharp objects. The miscreants also allegedly snatched away a car belonging to one of the journalists during the attack, reports said.
Naresh was rescued from the location and first admitted to Motu Health Centre for treatment. Later, he was transferred to Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital for further care. Though doctors tried their best, he died of his injuries.
The reason behind the killing is yet to be determined. Naresh’s body was preserved at the district hospital for a post-mortem. It is reported that several others were also injured in the attack.
On getting the information, police rushed to the scene and have opened an investigation into the incident.
