Rayagada Youth Arrested for Posting AI-Generated Obscene Video Targeting Chief Minister

A youth from Rayagada district, Kishore Kaushalya, has been arrested for posting a fake AI-generated video targeting the Chief Minister of Odisha. The Cyber Cell of the Crime Branch arrested him and produced him in court after an investigation.

According to reliable sources, Kishore had posted a morphed and obscene video of the Chief Minister on social media, specifically on Facebook. Following complaints, the Cyber Crime Unit launched an inquiry and traced the Facebook account to a resident of Rayagada district.

It was found that for the past few days, a manipulated video falsely portraying the Chief Minister in an offensive and defamatory manner was circulating on Facebook. The video allegedly aimed to defame the CM and tarnish his image among the public, while also being insulting to women.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Crime Branch promptly initiated a probe, and also requested Meta (Facebook’s parent company) to remove the objectionable content. Further investigation led to the identification of the account owner as Kishore Kaushalya, a resident of Kewtaguda Station Sahi under Chandili Police Station in Rayagada.

After confirming his identity, a Crime Branch team went to Rayagada and arrested Kishore. He was found to be working at a construction company in Tikiri, Rayagada.

The police are continuing the investigation, and legal action is being taken under applicable sections related to cybercrime, defamation, and obscenity.
