PM Modi to Unveil Major Welfare Initiatives in Odisha During Bhubaneswar Visit on June 20

Bhubaneswar, June 16, 2025:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Odisha on June 20 for his sixth visit to the state within a year, underscoring the Centre’s continued focus on Odisha’s development under the BJP-led government. The visit will coincide with the first anniversary celebrations of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s administration and will be marked by a grand public address at Bhubaneswar’s Janata Maidan.

PM Modi’s arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport around 3:00 PM will be followed by a ceremonial welcome and participation in the Triranga Yatra, a patriotic procession dedicated to the armed forces. From there, he will lead a 1.5-kilometre-long roadshow from AG Square to Janata Maidan, expected to draw massive public participation, much like his previous campaign trail visit to the city.

The highlight of the evening will be the official launch of the Mahapurusha Adarsh Gram Yojana, a rural development initiative designed to transform approximately 100 villages associated with iconic personalities into model villages. In addition, the Prime Minister will distribute 50,000 work orders under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana, a housing scheme aimed at empowering economically weaker families.

With a crowd of over one lakh expected to attend, PM Modi is also set to showcase the achievements of the Majhi government and unveil Odisha’s long-term development vision, focusing on Vision 2036 and Vision 2047.

The state government has planned the event meticulously, using the occasion to spotlight flagship welfare schemes such as the Subhadra Yojana, which provides direct financial support to women, and the ₹800 per quintal bonus offered under the Input Support Scheme to benefit farmers. Other notable milestones — including the reopening of all four gates of the Jagannath Temple in Puri and the digitalization of its donation process — are also expected to feature in the narrative of a transforming Odisha.

Senior BJP leader Jay Narayan Mishra noted that the frequency of high-level visits by the Prime Minister and Union Ministers has had a powerful effect on public sentiment. “Every visit boosts public confidence in the BJP and strengthens the party’s presence in the state,” he said.

PM Modi’s consistent engagement with Odisha, including participation in key events such as the government’s swearing-in ceremony, the Subhadra Yojana launch, and national forums like the DGP Conference and Pravasi Bharatiya Sammilani, signals the Centre’s growing political and developmental commitment to the state.

With preparations in full swing, the June 20 event is expected to further cement the BJP’s bond with the people of Odisha while reaffirming its governance agenda for inclusive and accelerated growth.
